It can be overwhelming for users to see a large number of open sign ups in a dashboard. Fortunately, Small Sign Up dashboards include several convenient configuration options that make the dashboard easier to view, understand, and sign up.
The main options available today are:
Team editors have the flexibility to set up their dashboard with either a full-size layout or a condensed layout. Select this option in the "Settings" tab of the "Configure Dashboard" page.
The full-size layout displays all details about all available sign-ups, making it perfect for dashboards with fewer sign ups where it is helpful to see more information at a glance and minimize the number of clicks required to sign up.
On the other hand, the condensed view reduces visual clutter, displaying only the sign up name, description, and total number of sign up slots. Users can expand cards to view more details and sign up for open slots. The condensed view is ideal for dashboards with a higher volume of sign ups because it is easier for users to visually understand the sign ups available.
Finally, if you need even more screen real estate, you can elect to turn off sign up pictures in the settings menu. However, dashboards may look more appealing to users when they see a picture associated with the sign up, so we recommend trying both options and seeing what works best for your team!
Next, filters are an essential feature that allows users to narrow down sign-ups based on their preferences. Team editors can choose to attach a filter to any sign up fields in their dashboard. Common options include location, time frame, or other relevant sign up characteristics. Just flip the "Filter" switch in the "Settings" tab when configuring the dashboard.
When users view your dashboard, they will see drop-down selection boxes they can use to apply sign up filters. This option helps users avoid scrolling through irrelevant options and makes it faster and easier to find the right opportunity.
Filters can also be combined in order to filter both field 1 AND field 2 (and so on).
Finally, the callout badge is a visual indicator you can use to highlight important sign-up opportunities. Badges can be customized by simply setting the "Badge" text when editing a sign up.
After the badge text is set, the callout badge will display in the dashboard next to the sign up picture.
The configuration settings available today give team editors an initial set of flexible and user-friendly dashboard options to simplify the sign up process for their unique situation. We find that dashboards with a large number of sign ups become more digestible when using the condensed view, well-organized sign up filters, and callout badges on important sign ups. However, this is still just the beginning -- If you have other requests or ideas to improve the dashboard display in the future, please reach out to discuss!
